EVIDENCE OF HEALTH BENEFITS OF BIOIDENTICAL HORMONES IS GROWING.

Bioidentical hormones can effectively help with multiple hormone related issues such as menopause, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), andropause (male menopause), perimenopause, under-active thyroid (hypothyroidism), etc.
Recent scientific studies have demonstrated newly discovered advantages of using natural bioidentical hormones through bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) :

Progesterone is beneficial in brain trauma and helps with post traumatic brain recovery.
Scientists at Emory University discovered that adding progesterone to the treatment regimen of brain injury patients reduced the death rate from brain trauma by 50% as well as improved recovery of brain function. Bioidentical progesterone may be a valuable treatment for many neurological conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease.

Studies from Mayo Clinic revealed that an estradiol metabolite (2-methoxyestradiol) has natural properties that are effective against many cancers including: breast, prostate, ovarian as well as pancreatic and gastric cancer. The healthy levels of this natural metabolite of estradiol can be enhanced by normal methylation pathways of the human body. However, the majority of people nowadays have abnormal methylation pathways. This may be another reason for the growing cancer rate in modern societies.

The health of your methylation pathway can be assessed by a laboratory test and balanced through natural nutritional supplements, as well as natural detoxification programs.

The pharmaceutical industry is now attempting to claim the benefits that bioidentical hormones provide to the health of the human body. Estradiol in the body is naturally metabolized to 2-methoxyestradiol. This natural metabolite of estradiol is presently awaiting FDA approval to be sold as a prescription drug under the name Panzem®.

Should Big Pharma be allowed to patent natural hormone metabolites and reap huge monetary rewards?

This should be put into the mainstream, instead of placing people on toxic drugs that only mess-up their bodies.
This is proof that there ARE natural ways that work and work way more effectively that what drug companies (with the help of the FDA and our government) keep pushing at us.

I have been on bioidentical hormones for the past year now, and I can truly say THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE!! I am 53 years old and I feel better then when I was 33. I have more strength, more energy, my libido up, my complexion has improved and I even think there are less wrinkles on my face. This may be also in part due to the aggressive supplement program I placed myself on. Whatever it is ITS WORKING!! and people are noticing including my husband, whom I've managed to purswade on doing bioidentical hormones as well (since he's been going through andropause).

Bioidentical hormones really work better than the synthetic ones. I was placed on Prempro by my doctor, but it was making me sick. I was bloated, moody, I coludn't take it anymore.

I stopped taking those hormones myself even though my doctor wanted me to continue with them. It took me some time to find a doctor who specializes in bioidentical hormones.

When I finaly started on bioidentical hormones, they made such a difference in my life. I just wonder why family doctors or gynecologists push those synthetic drugs.

Regular allopathic docs push these drugs because they are close minded and refuse to face the facts. They were taught one way...way back then, and now they still think it is the only way. These Doctors will not step out of the "comfort-zones" to experiment and see if alternate therapies (bioidentical hormones, alternative medicines, holistic treatments) could work better for the patient. That deary is the "inconvenient truth".

My Doctor placed me on regular hormone replacement therapy to help me with my hormonal imbalances and the symptoms I had been having. He determined I am experiencing andropause or male menopause (didnt think guys went through this). I have been reading on the topic of bioidentical hormones and believe it might be better for me then taking the synthetic hormones.

Has anyone here in a similar situation to mine had any positive convincing outcomes with bioidentical hormones?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I would strongly advise to go on bio-identical hormones since they do not have side effects and as we all know the closer to being "natural" something is or in this case "bioidentical", the better it is for your body.

I was on birth control pills for over 20 years and when I finally stopped them I started having menopausal symptoms at age 40. I could not believe what was happening to me, I had horrible hot flashes, I could not sleep and I ended up on anti-depressants. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy literally saved my life. Now I have been on bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for the past several years and I feel like a normal person, not like that old irritable menopause woman I use to be at age 40. Thanks God we can use those bioidentical hormones and I am grateful to the doctors who prescribe them.

    Bioidentical hormones are my passion!
I started hormone replacement 2 years back (on synthetic hormones), and then I read about natural bioidentical hormones and that they can have the benefits without the side effects of synthetic hormones. I was looking for doctors who specialize in bioidentical hormones and found one that put me on BHRT. I gotta say its made my WORLD MUCH BETTER in the way I feel and even the way I look. I instantly felt reborn the first week into using bioidenticals

Bioidentical hormones are a wonderful alternative to synthetic hormone therapy, bioidentical hormones for men and women alike offer profound health benefits for the entire body. When people grow older and their bodies age, hormone production decreases. A decrease in hormones can cause the frequent menopause symptoms or male menopause symptoms that effect so many men and women (hot flashes, mood swing, restlessness, sleepless nights, low sex drive). As a result people live unhappy lives are frustration often mounts. Their doctors prescribe antidepressants that only worsen the problem. I was very pleased to find this site. I wanted to thank you for all your wonderful articles and that you support bioidentical hormones for men and women !! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it and I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.

      - It is not normal to have heavy bleeding on BHRT. Bleeding such as you're describing is indicative of a hormonal imbalance. Your doctor is right; the dose of estrogen in the pellets is probably too high for you. You should have your hormone levels checked through laboratory testing and your dose of both estrogen and progesterone should be adjusted according to your test results and your symptoms. When the dose of the hormones is tailored specifically for an individual person's needs there should not be any negative side effects only positive results. Hope this helps...
